Sitting on one and a half acres, you have plenty of elbow room to enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy a game of horse shoes, croquet, badminton or volleyball or sit in the shade of full growth trees and enjoy watching the humming birds flit from mature lilacs, peonies or dogwood, lovingly planted so many years ago. But, if you feel the need and find the time, we also have cable TV for your convenience.

The Cottage is very conveniently located close to Route 19 and we are right in the middle of tourism country. Fifteen minutes to the south you will find the New River Gorge Bridge, the longest arch bridge in the western hemisphere and the hub of white water rafting in the area. The bridge spans the New River Gorge, known as "The Grand Canyon of the East". Ten minutes to the north will bring you to the Summersville Lake, referred to by the Outside Magazine as "The Little Bahamas of the East". Mt. Lookout sits right on the Meadow River Gorge.

The Cottage sleeps six plus a small trundle bed for one or two more little ones. One bedroom has a queen sized bed while the second bedroom has two doubles, plus trundle and a library you are welcome to use. We offer a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with an authentic 1949 Frigidaire refrigerator that purrs like a kitten, (all that's lacking is Grandma's pitcher of grape Kool-Aid). A utility room with washer and dryer are also available. All linens are furnished, plus extras. Our Cottage has roots and history that go deep into the moutains of West Virginia. So for a peaceful change of pace, come on down the lane, kick your shoes off and sit a spell. |
