Ever wish you could take a step back in time, relax on a front porch swing, sip some lemonade and listen to the wind whistling through tall pines swaying in the breeze? Maybe catch the hum of a farm tractor in the distance or the low of cattle grazing in a neighbor's field? Our cottage could fit the bill for you.

Built in 1951 in the little community of Mt. Lookout, WV, this was the home place of a childhood friend of mine. My family and I spent a summer giving it some much needed TLC while keeping the ambience of a simpler time.
Every person that worked with us or wandered by for a chat expressed the same sentiment about our cozy little place. It's so peaceful here! Life seems to slow down a bit and you can almost feel like you have taken a step back in time.

Sitting on one and a half acres, you have plenty of elbow room to enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy a game of horse shoes, croquet, badminton or volleyball or sit in the shade of full growth trees and enjoy watching the humming birds flit from mature lilacs, peonies or dogwood, lovingly planted so many years ago. But, if you feel the need and find the time, we also have cable TV for your convenience.

The Cottage is very conveniently located close to Route 19 and we are right in the middle of tourism country. Fifteen minutes to the south you will find the New River Gorge Bridge, the longest arch bridge in the western hemisphere and the hub of white water rafting in the area. The bridge spans the New River Gorge, known as "The Grand Canyon of the East". Ten minutes to the north will bring you to the Summersville Lake, referred to by the Outside Magazine as "The Little Bahamas of the East". Mt. Lookout sits right on the Meadow River Gorge.
